The Takara release of Hot Rod (Hot Shot) features slight changes to the deco with a more saturated yellow and gray instead of dark blue accents on his shins. It also features a light up gimmick in his right hand activated when pressing in his rear view mirror which was removed for the Hasbro release. It can be used to light up the Star Saber.
